The project involves the comprehensive reorganization of the reception areas, ancillary services, and courtyards of the Regional Museum of Natural Sciences of Turin, aiming to improve spatial functionality, enhance the visitor experience, and ensure architectural coherence with the building’s historical value. The project is carried out in an integrated manner across various areas: from the entrance and galleries—redesigned for accessibility, safety, and a renewed aesthetic identity—to the spaces dedicated to public activities, such as the bookshop, cafeteria, and classrooms, which are being redistributed and equipped with new furnishings and technical equipment.
A significant portion of the project is dedicated to restoring the internal courtyards, aiming to recover, as much as possible, their original spatial qualities by replacing elements added in the 1980s with lighter solutions that respect the complex’s historical character. Concurrently, the renovation of restrooms, modernization of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, and improvement of access routes bring the Museum up to contemporary standards without compromising its architectural integrity. The entire project thus emerges as a restoration and redevelopment effort that balances functional needs, historical constraints, and new modes of engagement, returning clearer, more accessible, and welcoming spaces to the Museum, fully consistent with its cultural and institutional identity.
